Capsicum is a very rich source of Vitamin A and Vitamin C. It also has antioxidant properties. A very tasty chutney can be made with capsicum, onions and garlic all of which make a happy heart.

Capsicum chutney

2 red capsicums
1 onion
5 - 6 garlic flakes
5 dry red chillies
A cup full of curry leaves/sweet neem leaves
A gooseberry sized tamarind or a big tomato
Salt to taste


Roast all the ingredients except tomato, garlic and salt. Add tomato and garlic to the roasted ingredients and grind to a fine paste. You can also add a tbsp of roasted peanuts or roasted gram dal to, it to vary the taste.
