All parts of the tree - the roots, leaves, bark, flowers and seeds are medicinal, and have health benefits. The fruit is low in calories and high in fibre, vitamins and phytochemicals. The pomegranate is considered to be a sign of fertility in Chinese and Persian cultures. The Egyptians regarded it as a symbol of prosperity and ambition.
