Somebody very dear to me was suddenly diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) is a slowly progressing cancer of the blood in which too many lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, are produced by the bone marrow and by organs of the lymph system.

Within four months of the diagnosis, there was a rapid deterioration in his platelet levels. His WBC shot up and there was a drastic fall in his haemoglobin levels. The doctor told us we'd have to start chemeotherapy. Since he was almost 75, we wanted to spare him the pain, side effects and discomfort of the treatment. We started scouring the internet for anything that would help him improve his blood test results so that he wouldn't have to go in for medication. Thats when we came across a report which mentioned that wheatgrass was helpful in treating leukemia. As we had nothing to lose, we started him on wheat grass therapy. Wheatgrass is mostly chlorophyll - about 70%. Chlorophyll has a very similar molecular structure to hemoglobin, the molecule which carries the oxygen in the human blood stream. Chlorophyll has been shown to help boost hemoglobin production and thus help the body carry more oxygen in the blood.

Two months after starting him on wheat grass and bermuda grass, his heamoglobin levels started improving. Its almost 3 years now and we have not had to start treatment. We hope dearly that we won't have to. As of today, the platelet level is normal, haemoglobin is slightly below normal. RBC too is almost normal. The WBC count is nowhere near normal, but there is nothing to fear right now.

Ofcourse, we have used a combination of natural herbs and fruits to improve his haemoglobin levels. This experience led me to read up a lot on herbal and natural remedies and I was amazed at the curative properties of some of these herbs. The result is this site. I decided to gather information on plants and their healing properties and put them online so that anyone in need would have comprehensive information on them.

This is not to say that this site is an authority on any illness or medication. This is for information only. Please use this in consultation with your doctor.

"Your food shall be your medicine", said Hippocrates. Natural food taken on a regular basis helps in preventing various disorders and in maintaining good health. The purpose of herbal remedies is to stimulate the body's own healing abilities by cleansing and rebalancing. The advantage of natural medicines is their ability to return the body to a state of health without any risks and damaging side effects, unlike synthetic drugs.
